Fortunately for me I found a medication, thanks to my GP, that has removed any and all suicidal thoughts.
It was my disordered thinking that made me think I was better of dead.
Sure things would have turned out differently had I been diagnosed and medicated decades ago. But I can’t go back and change that, I can only move forward with that knowledge ensuring I do not make the same mistakes again.
I am not sure I agree with Andrew that everyone has the right to die in their own way as those who experience this as a result of their illness are not capable of making the best decisions. Being overwhelmed by everything is not a good mindset to make such a decision.
I still wonder if it simply comes down to the right medication: the one that actually works rather than the ones we merely think are working.
I know that I thought that the wrong meds were working when the evidence, not that I could see it, suggested otherwise.
